MATH BOOSTERS

Congratulations to our coach, Joseph Holbrook, for being named Teacher of the Year of the Bergen County Technical Schools (BCA, Bergen Tech and Special Services.) Mr. Holbrook puts in a 7 day week at our school and is completely dedicated to the math team.
Three of our students made it into the top 24 of the USA Math Olympics. One, for the second year in a row, is in the top 12. He will be one of the 12 students considered for the 6 slots on the U.S. Olympic Math Team that will be competing in Greece this summer. The other two received honorable mentions for being in the top 24. Our team had more students in the top 24 than any other team.
Unofficial results for the NJ Math League are in. Our 4 teams had the highest scores in the state. Two of our teams had perfect scores. ARML finishes out our season on June 4-5.
Thanks to the many parents who have donated time or money this year to Math Boosters. If you are not receiving e-mail updates and would like to, please send your email address to faydave@optonline.net. It's been a great year and we're looking forward to a great season next year. Remember, you can check out our web site academyppo.com/math for information about the math team.

Have a great summer!

--Fay Sharit, Co-President, Math Boosters

Thanks for your help
I wish to extend my appreciation and sincere gratitude to all the parents who have volunteered throughout the year. I would never have been able to serve as the PPO Administrator without your assistance.
These parents have willingly and generously given so much of their time. They assisted with the PPO mailings, the International Dinner, the College Resource Office, Admissions, Senior Experience, Appreciation Luncheons ,and last but not least, the PPO Picnic.
Without your help none of these events would have been possible.
Thank you in helping us make this a successful year.

--Ana Tiongko, PPO Administrator

College Corner

Terry and I deeply appreciate all of the assistance we received this year from the PPO. It's a wonderfully run organization and very responsive to all of our needs! The PPO mothers are an industrious, reliable group of volunteers whose efforts contribute to the successful running of the College Center. Thank you for coordinating the following activities:
PSAT/AP registration: Helped register students for the PSAT/AP exam. Parents worked on a daily basis for several weeks. This was a great help!
Mailing: Helped with the handling of voluminous college mail, and the folding and stuffing of envelopes.
Filing: Helped with filing blank applications and college brochures. Organized college catalogues and resource books.
College Fair: Helped organize and plan dinner and entertainment for the Academy College Fair.

We look forward to another successful school year next year!
