AVAGC Parents
will hear two special speakers at the January 6 PPO meeting addressing
"Stress" related student issues. John Bercovici
will focus on school related issues. Mary Beth Kneis, LCSW, will
talk about what parents should look out for that might indicate
stress in their student's life. She will also discuss ways of
dealing and coping with these issues. For more information, contact:

Math
Team parents are invited to join the Math
Boosters Club. Our next Boosters meeting is Saturday,
Dec. 14, 1:15 PM, in the room next to the math team practice rooms.

Philharmonic's Sunday, Dec. 1, 3PM performance at the Academy.
Two BCA ensembles will open the concert and students will audition
to play with the orchestra for the evening. Support this unique

We
are proud to note the following 15 students who were chosen
to participate in the Bergen County Choir: Svetlana
Dvinyaninova, Ga Young Lee, Jennifer Kwok, Raymond Obico,
Sam Roney, Stefan Ringel, Paul Franco, John Lagomarsino, Sherry
Chung, Jennifer Luo, Anthony Minnervini, Joseph Dietrich,
Maxx Cho, Katie Paul, and Wayne Lee. We are told this is an
inordinately high number to have been chosen from a school
our size. Congratulations to all those who auditioned!
Fall

A special congratulations to Daniel
Lee for being awarded the Bergen County Scholarly Athlete
Award by the Bergen County Soccer Coaches Association.

Class of
2003 Friday,
Dec. 20, the PPO will sponsor a Class of 2002 Alumni Breakfast
in the upstairs cafeteria. Seniors are invited to meet with
alumni to learn about their college experiences and see old
friends. Parent volunteers are needed for this event. Please
contact Faye at 201-894-0995 or Janet at 201 825-9071. Thanks
in advance to Dana Picinich for her efforts. The Senior Trip
has been finalized. The trip is scheduled June 6, 7 and 8,
2003 at Pinegrove Dude Ranch in Kerhonhson, NY. The cost is
$350 per student. A $100 deposit will be accepted as of Monday,
November 18. Additional information has been mailed home.
Class
of 2004 Many thanks to all the
families who helped to make our junior class bake sale a tremendous
success during an Academy Open House. A very happy
and healthy holiday season to all.
Class
of 2006 Freshmen are sponsoring
the November 24 Open House bake sale. Call Janet Nemec
